Previous Projects


SA7#
SA7 project seeks to establish a network of organisations and individuals in 4 countries: Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and Iraq, who will work together to combat the spread of mis/disinformation by promoting pre and post fact-checking best practises, and instilling the concept of fact-checking within Arab media outlets.
The project focuses on developing the code of principles for fact-checking in the Arab world, training and developing methodologies and skills for fact-checking through workshops and webinars, designing educational materials and awareness campaigns, organising a regional track on fact-checking, and developing tools and data sources in Arabic to support the work of fact-checkers.


Edit and Verify
ARIJ has long been on the frontline of investigative journalism in the region, providing theoretical and hands-on training to journalists at all skill levels. Since 2006, it has trained 2,800 journalists and supported over 600 quality investigations. In the past five years, it won over 50 local, regional and international awards. By partnering with more than 50 partners worldwide, ARIJ facilitates networking for journalists and media experts through its in-person, online training workshops and events, and its Annual Forum.
DALIL
“Dalil” project aims to improve fact-checking and access to accurate information in 7 Arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq , Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen). Through “Dalil” project, members of the Arab Fact-Checker Network were provided with the latest tools, training and support to ensure that their work are accessible to public and policy makers alike.


COP28
The Arab Fact-Checkers Network held between 29th and 30th of November, On the sidelines of the ARIJ 16th Forum, the “AFCN Climate Change Fact-checking Lab”, to fact-check and verify information directly related to the “Conference of the Parties” (COP28) held in the UAE between November 30 and December 12, which is concerned with discussing the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
