How to build your fact-checking career?
A new webinar entitled “How to build your fact-checking career?”, with the participation of more than 90 attendees via Zoom and +400 Views via Facebook Live from different Arab countries.
In this webinar, the Deputy Director of the International Fact-checking Network (IFCN), Ferdi Ozsoy, gave an introduction to the work of their network and provided the participants with the essential skills for fact-checkers during their career path, discussed how to build a successful fact-checking organization, and how IFCN can assist fact-checkers to achieve this, the most important services provided by IFCN and how can fact-checking organisations around the world apply to become IFCN signatory.
Over two hours, the session was moderated by AFCN manager, Saja Mortada, who emphasised the possibility of assisting the Arab fact-checking organisations joining IFCN, participants interacted by posing several questions to Ozsoy, who emphasised the support of the international network for all fact-checkers, including the Arab region, and posed several effective ways of communicating between IFCN and its signatories to benefit from all the services it provides to these organisations, including grants.
This webinar is the fourth of a series of webinars conducted by AFCN under ‘Dalil’ project, the third webinar in the series was held on July 10 under the title “Fact-checking social media content”.
It’s worth mentioning that “Dalil” is one of AFCN projects supported by the EU, in partnership with “Siren” and “Josa”, and aims to enhance fact-checking and access to accurate information in seven countries in the MENA region (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia & Yemen).
