AFCN Finalised the Third Fact-Checking Workshop Under Dalil Project

The “Arab Fact-Checkers Network” (AFCN) led by ARIJ, finalised the third pre and post- publication fact-checking workshop under its project Dalil, supported by the EU, and in partnership with “Siren” and “Josa”.
16 fact-checkers from 8 fact-checking organisations/initiatives from Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Tunisia, Morocco and Yemen participated in the workshop that lasted 4 days from 4 to 7 July 2022.
In the first 2 days, AFCN manager Saja Mortada, trained the participants on ARIJ pre-publication fact-checking methodology, as the fact-checkers worked on fact-checking investigations & in-depth reports.
In the third and fourth days, Fellow teacher for MENA region in Google News Initiative Pamela Kesrouani, trained the participants on the methodology and tools of post-publication fact-checking, as they were trained on advanced research and how to verify pictures, videos, and social media accounts.
The Dalil project is part of AFCN led by ARIJ, with the support of the European Union and in cooperation with SIREN and JOSA. The project aims to increase the usage of locally driven, fact-checked online news in seven countries in the MENA region (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia & Yemen).
