Dalil 6th webinar: How to investigate using Linkedin and Facebook?

The sixthwebinar under Dalil project for 2023, entitled “How to investigate using Linkedin and Facebook?”, was organized on September 25, with the participation of more than 100 attendees via Zoom and +1000 Views via Facebook Live from different Arab countries.
Over two hours, the session was moderated by AFCN consultant, Rasha Faek, and trained by the researcher and the member of the Bellingcat investigation team, Nathan Patin, who reviewed in live examples, ways of searching and gathering information from Facebook and LinkedIn platforms.
In this webinar, the trainer provided participants with tools to assist them with research within the two platforms, such as: Meta Ad Library and SCOPENOW, the importance of re-checking the information we collect from these platforms because they may not be accurate or non-up-to-date as well as checking all details in the accounts we are looking into, noting the importance of using programs and technologies such as: Amazon Rekognition to recognize faces or compare images of people, and share methods of advanced search in Google that enable us to search within these platforms.
This webinar is part of a series of webinars conducted by AFCN under ‘Dalil’ project for 2023. It’s worth mentioning that “Dalil” is one of the AFCN projects supported by the EU, in partnership with “Siren” and “Josa”, and aims to enhance fact-checking and access to accurate information in seven countries in the MENA region (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia & Yemen).
